HSN is served by volunteer Co-Chairs Bruce Fisher and Steve Fields and an active Steering Committee comprised of executive directors and leaders of community-based nonprofit organizations. The Steering Committee meets monthly to provide direction and leadership. HSN also convenes working committees for specific projects.
HSN's member organizations support HSN activity through an annual dues assessment based on the size of the agency's budget. The San Francisco Foundation Community Initiatives Fund serves as HSN's fiscal agent.
Monthly membership meetings feature high-level public policy officials who share their knowledge and respond to members' questions, providing an invaluable perspective on potential policy hurdles. In addition, HSN meetings include legislative policy updates and serve as a distribution point for material affecting the nonprofit community. The general membership meets on the third Friday of most months. Between meetings, HSN keeps the community informed through e-mail updates.
